Do we really honour our War Heroes ?

In our National daily the respected Times of India which claims to be the most read news paper gave a small news clipping on the front page left side(issue dated 21 Mar 2007) about the operation carried out by the Indian Army in Kupwara Dist of J & K State. The total no of words you can count yourself. The article reads '' Six Killed in J & K gun battle : Four militants suspected to be members of Pakistan base Lashkar-e-Toiba and two army personel, including a captain ,were killed in a gunbattle in Kupwara district on Tuesday.''

Two days ago when the Pakistan cricket coach Mr Bob Woolmer died in West Indies the gentlemam got the front page news with the photograph double the size of the total coverage given to the news article on which the whole country should be proud of.

Some one has said that '' The nation perishes which do not honour its war heroes''

God save but it is high time we rise and shine and make the Forces know that atleast we are aware of the sacrifices they do for our safety and security and the families who have lost their everything that we are with them.

Hope the press becomes more sensible in reporting such incidences and highlight such incidences with much more pride so that the army of this great nation which is already in short of Officers will not one day starve of young men to lead the finest army in the battle field just because of our carelessness.

Think the day when the best fighting men in the world are lost cause they do not have the men of nerves of steel to lead them in the battlefield.
